Schisler Road (Regional Road 27) Bridge Rehabilitation
All Niagara Region projects

About the Project

The Schisler Road Bridge is located in the rural area of the City of Niagara Falls and currently has two lanes. The bridge provides a main crossing of the Canadian Pacific Railway main line track.

This project will carry out recommendations from a bridge condition survey that was conducted in 2019, extending its service life.

Businesses remain open

  • Temporary lane, sidewalk and driveway closures may happen from time-to-time, but access to businesses will be maintained at all times.

Expected traffic delays

  • Regional traffic will be reduced to a single lane for the duration for the project. Drivers can avoid delays by using alternative routes. A full closure with detours is anticipated in late October.

Driveway access and on-street parking

  • The contractor is required to maintain access to all homes during construction. There will be occasions when residents may experience some delays, lack of service and inconvenience. Every effort will be made by the contractor to minimize these occurrences as well as communicate when they are to occur.
  • We ask that you refrain from parking on the street during construction activities, as this can cause delays and prolong the construction period.
