Regional Agricultural Value Added Activities Study

The Study considers how the land use planning process in Niagara could be used to support "agricultural value added activities". This support could encourage a sustainable, more profitable and viable agricultural sector. The Study includes the following:

  • A summary of existing local, regional and provincial policies that support agricultural value added activities.
  • Recommendations for new Regional Policy Plan provisions that recognize value added activities.
  • Recommendations for new local official plan policies.
  • Proposals for broader recognition of processing, marketing and agri-tourism opportunities for farmers than are currently provided for in local, Regional or provincial policies.
